Sophia Convent School, Kalka is an Educational Institution administered by the Mission Sisters of Ajmer. It is a Christian Minority Institution, established by the Shimla-Chandigarh Educational Society, Chandigarh in the year 1975. This school is under the Religious jurisdiction of the Catholic Bishop of Shimla Chandigarh Diocese. In the year 1988 there was the strong proposal to raise the Sophia Primary school to the standard of High School and get affiliated to the C.B.S.E. The aim of our school is to give the primary Education to the children in an English Medium, Co-education school and to be a witnessing community by the apostolic work of the school, dispensary and social work.

 

This is an English Medium School for boys and girls and the course of studies is planned to lead up to the All-India Secondary School Examination, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.The school imparts education to the Catholic Community around and extends its service to the members of other communities to the extent possible.The school offers ample opportunities to every student to participate in school and inter-school contests in every field which enable students to win awards. Regular computer classes are held from class I to prepare the students for Computer Age.The school aims at an all-round training for students to enable them to be spiritually oriented, morally upright, intellectually well informed, socially concerned, nationally conscious, appreciative of their culture, emotionally balanced and physically well developed.The Management and Staff spare no effort in creating a congenial and happy environment for studies in order to develop the pupil's individual abilities and talents with a view to form socially responsible citizens distinguished for their all round development and sincere commitment to God and Country.
