Devprayag School was the dream project of Dr. Sushil Kumar Rastogi, President of Prayag Dant Vigyan Anushandhan Sansthan. With a strong vision to provide quality education without the burden of extra coaching, Dr. Rastogi began exploring the best educational models across cities like Dehradun, Ajmer, Delhi, and Punjab. His journey led him to meet Mrs. Shomic Ranjan Das, a world-renowned educationist, whose guidance helped establish Devprayag on the innovative concept of a Day-Boarding School.

The foundation of Devprayag was further strengthened with the appointment of Mr. Gilbert Bose as the Founder Principal. Known for his inspiring personality and deep connection with students, Mr. Bose laid a strong cultural and academic base for the institution. On March 1, 2005, Mr. Sunil J. David, former Dean of Admissions and English teacher at the prestigious Doon School, Dehradun, took charge as Principal. Under his leadership, Devprayag achieved a historic milestone in 2007 with a remarkable 99% result in its first ICSE examination.

Driven by a passion for educational excellence and social contribution, Dr. Rastogi expanded the vision beyond schooling. In 2009, Devprayag Institute of Technical Studies was established, followed by Devprayag Institute of Management in 2010, allowing students to pursue Engineering and Management education on the same campus after completing Class 12. This integration created a seamless academic journey for students.

In September 2009, Devprayag shifted to its new modern campus, designed to provide an advanced and conducive learning environment. The institution has also built a strong reputation in sports, winning numerous Gold and Silver medals at state and national levels.

Guided by its inspiring motto, “App Deepo Bhavo” (Be Your Own Light), Devprayag focuses on nurturing creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The school aims to shape confident, self-reliant individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society.
