About School
Tucked along Lanco Hill Road near the historic Golkonda Fort in Khajaguda Village, Delhi Public School Hyderabad opened its gates in 2002 as a joint initiative of the Vidyananda Educational Society and the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi. In the two decades since, it has grown into one of the most recognized CBSE schools in Hyderabad, ranked among the top 20 co-educational day schools in India by the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2021-22. The school operates as an English-medium, co-educational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, offering continuous schooling from Nursery through Class 12, managed under the academic direction of founder principal Ms. Rekha Aggarwala and principal Ms. Geetha Vishwanathan.
The school's academic programme follows the CBSE curriculum across all classes, with an emphasis on outcomes that go beyond board results. Students from DPS Hyderabad have gained admission to universities across the world, and the school's record at the secondary and senior secondary level has remained consistent across sessions. A standout recognition came in 2015, when student Master Suhit Rakshit of Class 10 was selected for the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement, conferred by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Children's Day. Co-curricular activities including dancing, music, and arts are structured into the school calendar alongside academics.
Spread over 6.5 acres - approximately 26,305 square metres - the campus is one of the more generously sized school campuses among CBSE schools in Hyderabad.
