Situated on the historic Mainawati Marg near the Kanpur Zoo, Delhi Public School Azaad Nagar is part of the DPS Kanpur family - a network of four institutions under the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi. Established in 2004, DPS Azaad Nagar grew out of the original DPS Servodaya Nagar (founded 1997) when the need for a larger senior school campus became evident. Today it occupies a sprawling, lush green 20-acre campus in Azaad Nagar, Khyora, and operates as a co-educational day and boarding school serving families across Kanpur and beyond.

Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the school has maintained a 100% pass rate in both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations every year since its first board result in 2017. In Class 12 (2023), Swati Pal topped the Humanities stream with 99%, while Harsh Jha and Abhay Chandra led the Science stream at 97.2% and 97% respectively. Class 10 results have been equally consistent - Sansthita Biswas achieved 99% in 2022, and Manikarnika Tiwari led the 2023 batch with 97.4%. A student from DPS Azaad Nagar, Arjav Jain, was awarded the National Bal Shree Honour by the then HRD Minister, placing the school on the national map.

The 20-acre campus houses dedicated laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Languages, along with a well-stocked library and Smart Classrooms powered by Educomp technology. Separate rooms for Music, Dance, Theatre, and Fine Arts support co-curricular participation. The school fields teams across inter-DPS, inter-school, and national-level competitions in sports, academics, and performing arts. A permanent in-house counsellor operates the school's Guidance and Counselling Centre, and annual medical camps are conducted in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Kanpur Chapter.
