Founded on 7th May 1997 by Seth Umesh Kumar Modi - industrialist and philanthropist - Dayawati Modi Public School Chandil was established in memory of his late mother, Rai Bahadurni Dayawati Modi, in response to a long-felt need among residents of the Bihar Sponge Iron Limited Colony and surrounding villages. The school received its NOC from the Jharkhand Government in 2002, obtained CBSE affiliation up to secondary level in April 2007, and was upgraded to senior secondary in 2011. Located in Umesh Nagar, Chandil, the campus sits in a picturesque setting near NH 33, approximately 9 km from Chandil town, surrounded by trees that give it a calm and pleasant environment for learning.
