DAV Public School, Dehra was established in 1985 to meet the educational requirements of children residing in the Dehra Sub-division area. During that time, many individuals employed in the defense sector lived in this region, and their families frequently relocated. As a result, most of their children received education in CBSE-affiliated institutions. However, within a 50km radius, there was no CBSE-affiliated school available. To address this need and provide quality education, esteemed educationists, philanthropists, and staunch Arya Samaj supporters in the area mobilized their resources. With the help of generous and altruistic individuals, they established this institution, which became an integral part of the DAV educational history.

The school operates under the auspices of the DAV organization, led by Sh. Poonam Suri, President of DAV CMC, Sh. Prabodh Mahajan, Chairman, Sh. M.L. Shekhri, Vice Chairman, Mrs. P. Sofat, Regional Director, Sh. R.K. Ohri, Manager, and other members of the local managing committee. Currently, the school is affiliated with CBSE and offers education from Nursery to 12th grade in both Medical and Non-Medical streams.

Today, we take pride in the fact that the school's long journey has produced exceptional scholars who have excelled in various fields, including medicine, engineering, civil services, judiciary, armed forces, and academia, both in the public and private sectors. The school began modestly with 50 students accommodated in a local temple. However, it has grown to accommodate 1,500 students in a well-equipped infrastructure. The school boasts highly educated and trained faculty, a well-stocked library, science labs, a computer lab, a playground, a multimedia hall, a Wi-Fi campus, smart classrooms, and recreational facilities. Transportation is provided by a fleet of nine buses serving various routes.

The school places significant emphasis on value education, soft skills development, leadership training, self-governance, and crisis management. There has been a revolutionary shift in classroom management, where pedagogical support is combined with IT and other multimedia tools. To ensure holistic development, parental cooperation is indispensable, and DAV Public School Dehra strives continuously to nurture the impressionable young minds, preparing them to adapt and excel in a rapidly changing social, emotional, and global landscape.
